Distribution: Costa Rica. Heredia

Habitat: epiphyte in Lower Montane Rain Forest, ca 2200 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet derives from the Greek words oînos, “wine,” and phyllon, “leaf;” it refers to the striking coloration on the abaxial surface of leaves and peduncle bracts reminiscent of that ancient and noble beverage

Phenology: Flowering individuals were collected in April and fruiting individuals in December.
