Distribution: Brazil, Sergipe

Habitat: terrestial on clayey or sandy soils in closed lowland semideciduous seasonal forest and restinga forest, 0-50 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the municipality of Pirambu where the type specimen was collected.

Phenology: Flowering has been recorded in nature in May and in cultivation in January and April.
