Type: Glaziou 15472 in part (holotype K, GH photo; isotype C), Serra d'Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 1883-84. Exact locality dubious because Paris specimen of same number gives "Ouro Branco" and the first set of Glaziou is there.

Habitat: Terrestrial and epiphytic, brushy fields and dwarf forest,, 1100-1400 m. Elev.
