Habitat: In dense forests occurring under conditions of high humidity and alluvial soils with low inclination

Etymology: The specific epithet of Ronnbergia robusta highlights the characteristically large flowers, sepals, sepal mucros and fruits of this species; a combination of characters not commonly observed in other species of Ronnbergia.
