Type: Brazil, Estado Minas Gerais, north of Corinto, near the river Rio das Velhas, southwestern slopes of the Serra do Cabral, alt. approx. 700 m a.s.l., campo rupestre, on and between crystaline rocks, associated with small trees, herbs, Vellozia spec. and cacti, leg. Jan. 2018, Lucas Nibert s.n. (holotype HAS 97.419).

Distribution: Brazil: Estado Minas Gerais

Habitat: xerophyte in an open, so-called campo rupestre on and between rocks, in fully exposed or in partial shade under accompanying shrubs and trees, ca 700 m. Elev.

Etymology: The new species is named after the biologist Lucas Nibert from Curvelo, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Phenology: The blooming period of the new species is during October. Conservation status At the type locality, the population is undisturbed to this day. According to the IUCN criteria (2019) the conservation status is categorized as “DD” (data deficient).
