Habitat: Terrestrial in campo rupestre (rupestrian grasslands or highland rocky grasslands) in the Cerrado domain, ca 900 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet honors the Av -Canoeiro indigenous people that used to live in the region of the Tocantins River.
