Distribution: BRAZIL: Minas Gerais

Habitat: rupicolous heliophyte, ca 1200 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet honors the botanist Dra. Rafaela Campostrini Forzza (RB), collector of the type specimen, who is a specialist in Bromeliaceae and has greatly contributed to our knowledge of the Brazilian Flora, as well as about inselberg bromeliads

Phenology: Collected with fruits in February.
