Distribution: BRAZIL. Minas Gerais

Habitat: terrestrial on the thin layer of soil accumulated over the quartizite rock of the rupestrian grassland habitat, ca. 1590 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet “itambana” is a reference to the type locality, the Pico do Itambé region.

Phenology: Flowering specimen were collected in June.
