Distribution: BRAZIL: Minas Gerais

Habitat: it grows on the top of isolated granitic inselbergs in the Atlantic Forest domain, ca 670 m. Elev.

Etymology: The species epithet refers to the long peduncle (“scape”) which is unique in this alliance.
