Distribution: Ecuador: Napo, Pastaza, Sucumbíos

Habitat: usually terrestrial or occasionally epiphytic in cloud forest of the Amazon region, it grows between the bush vegetation, very frequent in the cuts of the roads

Etymology: Named in honor of Peter Bak our friend and a Guzmania-minded man. Peter was born in the Netherlands; he studied horticulture especially in the field of bromeliads in Europe, Central and North America.
