Distribution: COSTA RICA; Cartago, San Jose,

Habitat: in the premontane rain forest life zone and possibly extending slightly into the lower montane rain forest life zone., 1400-1900 m. Elev.

Etymology: This species is named in honor of Dr. Kathleen Burt-Utley who first brought this taxon to my attention.

Phenology: Flowering specimens have been collected in June.
