Habitat: in Atlantic Rain Forest

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the type-locality of the species, the municipality of Biguaçú, in Santa Catarina state, south of Brazil ( Reitz 1952 ).

Phenology: The phenology is difficult to determine because of the few specimens collected. The type material was collected in flower in July.
