Distribution: BRAZIL; Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais

Habitat: epiphyte or occupying tussocks on the leaf litter, in high-altitude forests, 1200-1400 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the latin “arachnoideus:” resembling a spider ( Rizzini 1978 ).

Phenology: Flowers from November through February. Fruits in March and April.
