Distribution: Mexico: Chiapas, Oaxaca

Habitat: saxicolous on rocks, in areas of low deciduous or subdeciduous forests, in tropical subhumid to semiarid temperate areas, 650-2000 m. Elev.

Etymology: The etymology was not specified in the protologue but likely refers to the fact that these plants grow in clusters.

Phenology: Flowering occurs in March and April; fruiting is not recorded.
