(subgen. Tillandsia)Publ: Bromelie 2024(1): 12-25 fig. 1,19–43 (2024)
Distribution: PERU: Cajamarca:
Habitat: Saxicolous on steep rocky slopes, rooting in narrow crevices between fractured granite slabs, 800–1000 m. Elev.
Etymology: The epithet ‘palmatodigitata’ is derived from the hand-shaped (palmate) and finger-like (digitate) arrangement of the spikes of the lateral branches, which are spread out almost fan-like in one plane
Phenology: Tillandsia palmatodigitata was found flowering at the locality in early March, towards the end of the southern hemispheric summer. The development of the inflorescence thus occurs towards the end of the more rainy and warmer period, from January to February. The flowering period is likely to extend over a longer period, from March to May.
