Habitat: epiphytic growing in forests

Etymology: Named in honor of Jacob Bak (1932-) my friend and father of the coauthor. He is a pioneer in growing Bromeliaceae for the market, creator of one of the largest and leading Bromeliad Nurseries in the World “Corn. Bak BV the Netherlands” and a great fan and collector of Tillandsia species
