Distribution: MÉXICO: Jalisco

Habitat: Saxicolous on moist vertical cliffs, 2080-2190 m. Elev.

Etymology: The species honors Thomas Joseph Givnish, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for his outstanding contributions to systematics, ecology and evolution of plants, Bromeliads in particular.
