Distribution: Bolivia (Tarija & Potosí), Argentina (Salta)
Habitat: grows terrestrial, individually or in groups in sub-Andean humid forest, high Andean grasslands and scrubland of the northern xerophytic Puna, and low altimontane forests of the central xerophytic Puna, which present mixed associations of scrubland and grassland, 2050 - 4000 m. Elev.
Phenology: Inflorescence develops from December until May, while plants were in flower from June to September, and seeds began to be released in November
