Distribution: Peru: Arequipa

Habitat: Terrestrial in wide cracks in volcanic rocks, in a semi-arid environment with 100–300 mm of annual precipitation., 2400-3040 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the surname of Pedro Perea Salas and Julio Pinto Perea, to whom we dedicate this species, in gratitude for their logistical support, patience and interest in nature during our botanical trips through Peru.

Phenology: Start flowering in August, and this probably extends through at least September.
