Distribution: VENEZUELA: TRUJILLO

Habitat: Terrestrial in open paramo vegetation, 2600 m. Elev.

Etymology: the name of this new species reflects its apparently res - tricted range. Currently Puya guaramacalana is known only from the Gua - ramacal National Park in Trujillo State, Venezuela.
