Habitat: epiphyte growing in the densest and shadiest parts of the forest, ca 120 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet “sparsiflora” refers to the disposition of the flowers (“-flora”) in the spikes, which are sparsely arranged (“sparsus-”), creating a raceme-like pattern

Phenology: Blooming plants have been observed from August through December, with fruiting starting after November
