Distribution: MÉXICO: Oaxaca

Habitat: growing in colonies on the cliffs of the canyon on rocky cliffs and vertical walls, or terrestrially in dry oak forest and tropical deciduous forest, 1770-1960 m. Elev.

Etymology: Specific epithet refers to the small size of the plants of this new species.

Phenology: bloom from March to April
