Distribution: Ecuador: Azuay, Zamora-Chinchipe

Habitat: terrestrial in dense clumps, 2190–3320 m. Elev. img

Etymology: Referring to the name of the Reserve “Tapichalaca”, where the type was collected.

Phenology: Individuals have been recorded at different stages of flowering and fruiting, during the months of April to May and possibly it is flowering all year around
