Type: Type: Brasil, Piaui (note The protologue and the label of the type collection record that the collection was made in Piauí, however, the Serra de Ibiapaba is located in the municipal district of Tiangua, state of Ceara, very close of the boundary with Piauí). Distribution: BRAZIL; Piaui, Ceara,

Habitat: occurs directly on rock

Phenology: The great majority of the collections examined show that E. erectiflorum flowers in May, June and July. Some examples were collected in flower the months of September and December. Specimens with immature or fully developed fruits were collected in December.
