Distribution: Brazil: Santa Catarina

Habitat: saxicolous, growing on cliffs in full sun, 350–410 m. Elev.

Etymology: The Latin epithet ‘vilsonii’ honors Dr. Vilson Müller from Santa Catarina. Without his field research the description of this new species would not have been possible.
