Type: BRAZIL. In the north of the state of Goiás: São Luiz do Tocantins, campo rupestre, in high mountainous regions at an altitude of 1,148 m a.s.l., in stony to sandy substrate, leg. 30 November 2023, P.J. Braun 7460, J. Larocca & A. Seringer (holotype HAS).

Distribution: BRAZIL: Goiás

Habitat: terrestrial in dense low vegetation on rocky to sandy substrates (campo rupestre), 600-1148 m. Elev.

Etymology: The new species is named in honour of the co-discoverer and botanist João Larocca from Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (Fig. 12).

Phenology: The plants were found at the end of November during the late flowering period. Mature fruits have not yet been found.
