Distribution: SURINAME, FRENCH GUIANA
Habitat: A strictly terrestrial species that grows in the understory of non-flooded moist forests, on plateaus or smooth to very steep slopes of inselbergs, 50-750 m. Elev.
Etymology: This species is named after Carol Gracie, who photographed the plant in the field and was part of the team that collected the type specimen. Carol Gracie has contributed invaluable photographs of plants in their native habitats throughout the neotropics. Carol Gracie and her husband, Scott Mori, have collected and discovered many new species and greatly contributed to the understanding of the flora of the Guianas, especially French Guiana.
