Distribution: BRAZIL; Maranhao

Habitat: in full sunshine or between trees and bushes, ca. 30 m. Elev.

Etymology: It is not only the wish of the discoverer, but is also a pleasure to the authors to dedicate this interesting new species to Mauricio Araujo Mendonca. Working as a zoologist at the University of Maranhao (Sao Luis), he has been heavily involved in the ecological exploration of his federal state. Further, he is a teacher highly prized for his scientific education of students.
