Status: Synonym

Type: Origin unknown, probably Peru or Bolivia, flowered in cultivation in Australia; grown from seed sold by K. Knize, Lima, Peru as "Puya filifera", 24 January 1992, D. Butcher s.n. (Holotype:SEL).
