Taxonomic Change:
- Treated as a synonym of Tillandsia argentina C.H. Wright. - Baker, Mez, Castellanos and Harms have all considered Tillandsia argentina C.H. Wright identical with T. unca Griseb., but none of them cite the type of Tillandsia unca and Smith has not been able to locate it either. However there is ample evidence in the original description to prove that true Tillandsia unca is nearly related to if not identical with Tillandsia pulchella Hook —See Smith 1935 p. 172
