- Habitat and distribution This new species was found in some localities on the way from Cafayate to Alemania on the rocky cliffs along the Quebrada de las Conchas and it seems that it has not been found elsewhere. The presence of Tillandsia in the valley is rather species- rich. In its surrounding area the following species are reported: T. aizoides Mez, T. argentina C.H. Wright, T. diaguitensis A. Cast., T. duratii var. saxatilis, T. lorentziana Griseb., T. peiranoi A. Cast., T. peiranoi × streptocarpa Baker, T. zecheri var. cafayatensis Palací & G.K. Br., T. gilliesii ssp. polysticha W.Till & L. Hrom., T. capillaris Ruiz & Pav., T. caliginosa W. Till, T. funebris A. Cast. —SeeHromadnik & Hromadnik 2012
