Habitat and distribution. Until today, Racinaea hasei was only found in the type region in Ecuador, Province Azuay, between Gualaceo, Plan de Milagro, Mendez, Paute, and Limon, at 2500 m elevation, as an epiphyte in the remnants of the former mountainous forest. —SeeHöpfel & Scharf 2011
