- -Distribution and habitat The populations of A. cerosa are abundant in and in the neighbourhood of the county of Guaratinga, south region of Bahia, where it lives as a typical rupicolous species on vertical granite walls, exposed to the full sun, which makes the task of collecting it a truly risky adventure.
Threats to the populations The regional abundance of the new species and the obvious inaccessibility of its rocky habitat does not mean the new species is completely protected from threats. Periodically set illegal fires destroy large areas of the local vegetation and entire populations are wiped out by illicit exploitation. —See Die Bromelie
