Our first contact with O. diamantinense was 15 years ago, when the holotype specimen was collected. Since then we had the opportunity to observe this species in different areas in the neighborhood of Diamantina, where it has a sparse distribution in the “Campos Rupestres” vegetation, with scattered but frequent individuals growing in accumulated organic material among rock outcrops and in crevices, completely exposed to sunlight or more often partially protected by shrubs —SeeLeme 2008bp. 58(6): 257-261
