- - Puya bravoi grows on rocky and grassy slopes above the timberline. Only one population comprising a few hundred individuals has been found. Flowering plants were observed in late October 2005, and no flowering occurred during spring and early summer of 2006. Puya bravoi is closely related to P. weberiana E. Morren ex Mez, P. fosteriana L. B. Smith, P. cardenasii L. B. Smith and P. tristis L. B. Smith, having a cylindrical lanate inflorescence. —See J. Bromeliad Soc.
