Vriesea piscatrix Versieux & Wand.
Literature references:
Comments:
- Probably an hybrid of Vriesea lubbersii and V.guttata (comm. Elton Leme)
- Vriesea piscatrix is known from just a forest remnant at the top of Serra do Cipo, where it grows as an epiphyte 5 m above ground level. It has a delicate and ornamental general aspect. The specific epithet gives the allusion of a fisherman, that can be imagined in the way the scape arches and in the nodding inflorescence.
Measures in conservation of the species is necessary, because it has been found only once in an area suffering process of deforestation, outside the limits of the National Park of Serra do Cipo. —See Versieux & Wanderley 2009b
