OBSERVATIONS. This terrestrial species, P. marinii, forms small isolated groups in the understory of primary forests; occasionally it is epiphytic. Its leaves are numerous, with a distichous phyllotaxis. The flowers have an orange-colored perianth (! Clark); after anthesis the flowers are pendent. The seeds have one simple wing at one side. Taxonomically, it should be located in the subgenus Pepinia. —SeeManzanares 2005
