OBSERVATIONS. P. palaciosii forms dense groups in the understory of primary forests on the shores of the Nangaritza River, near the military camp Miazi, where the environment is humid and shady. It has also been found in its vegetative state on the banks of the Coangos River near the Shuar community, Tinkimints. One of its most important characteristics is its leaves, which grow upright with a wide leaf blade, adaxially green and abaxially totally covered with a fine layer of ashgray indument, which gives it a silvery appearance. —SeeManzanares 2005
