• Pitcairnia rundelliana is known from the understory of lush primary premontane rainforest and adventive on adjacent revegetating roadcuts and disturbed hillsides in the Reserva Forestal Fortuna in western Panama. It may be expected to be found in adjacent areas of Costa Rica. —See Grant 1998b p. 48(3): 99-105
