Nidularium albiflorum occurs only in the state of Sao Paulo. It grows as an epiphyte in the understory of the Atlantic forest, forming small populations that cover the lower half of tree trunks, with sparse but continuous distribution. It isd protected in the Alto da serra de Paranapiacada Biological reserve and the Caminhos do Mar Park and is sympatric with N. rubens, its nearest relative. At least three clones of this species are in cultivation.
