• The type collection of this species (Steyermark 93790, holotype, US) has an old infructescence and an offshoot of new vegetative growth, making the comparison of new collections with this taxon difficult. Lindmania longipes seems to be closely related to L. brachyphylla and perhaps conspecific with it. —See Steyermark, Holst et al. 1989
