• E. lindenii is a mesophyte that lives on the forest floor as a terrestrial or saxicolous plant, or on the lower half of tree trunks as an epiphyte. It ranges from sandy coastal plain forest, near sea level, to Atlantic slope forest, around 400 m altitude, flowering mainly from March to June. —See Leme 1997a
