Ecological data: Species epiphytic or rarely rupicolous, heliophile, frequently observed on the upper branches of trees. It occurs in the Atlantic Pluvial Forest, at sea level to 900 m/s.m. It can be also found growing in bushy tree vegetation of swampy restinga, in coastal waterlogged or at times in mangroves.
Geographical distribution: Distributed mainly in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, having been recorded with asmaller frequency for Espírito Santo (Fig. 12). —See Vieira 2006
