- OBSERVATIONS. A. geminiflora is an endemic species, from the province of Pastaza that has not been found in Pastaza since its discovery in 1933. It has floral bracts with margins entire and a mucro (spine) at the apex of the primary bracts. It is easily confused with A. biflora and A. lugoi. The difference is that A. biflora is slightly cucullate at the apex. There are other populations in the Cordillera del Cutucu with similar characteristics. —See Manzanares 2002a p. p154
