Comments:
- Aechmea weilbachii is another species typical of the Atlantic forest. This species however has a much more restricted occurrence than V. carinata, and is only found in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This epiphytic bromeliad has nearly spineless suberect leaves. The inflorescence may be erect or pendent; it has short branches ( ca. 4cm long) that produce 3-7 distichous flowers. Sepal and petal color varies in the different forms. —See Bromelia
