- Distribution & Habitat
According to the available data, N. minutum is endemic to the Serra de Paranapiacaba where it grows on the floor of the Atlantic forest at 700 to 1,000 m altitude. Because of its stoloniferous habit, it forms rather extensive populations. It is protected in the Alto da Serra de Paranapiacaba Biological Reserve from whence came most of the known collections. There are two or three clones in cultivation from the same site. —See Leme 2000a
