- Distributio & habitat
Nidularium longiflorum is mainly terrestrial or saxicolous in the Atlantic forest from near sea level to about1,200 m, but it sometimes grows as an epiphyte on the lower part of tree trunks. The species is found from Espirito Santo and Rio de Janeiro to the Sao Sebastiao and Fazenda Intervales regions in Sao Paulo. It occurs in several public conservation units such as the Santa Lucia Ecological Station in Espirito Santo, Desengano State Park, Tingui Biological Reserve and Serra dos Orgaos National Park in Rio de Janeiro, and Bocaina National Park in Sao Paulo.
There are several clones available in cultivation representing most of the morphological variation described here. —See Leme 2000a
