- Distribution & Habitat
Populations of N. espiritosantense are concentrated in the mountains of Espirito Santo at altitudes over 700 m. This species has a saxicolous or epiphytic habit in the Atlantic slope forest understory, . In Bahia, dense populations were found on rocks inside the moist gallery forests of the Chapada Diamantina at 800 m altitude. In this same area we found a new species of Wittrockia (see chapter 9).
There are about tour different clones of N. espiritosantense in cultivation. —See Leme 2000a
