Distribution. It is the species of the group with wider distribution; it appears in different natural regions of Nicaragua (Jinotega), Costa Rica (San José), Panama (Cocle and Darien), Colombia and Ecuador (Emeraldas and Pichincha) (Smith & Downs 1977; D' Arcy 1987; Luther 1999; Morales 1999; Utley 2001). In Colombia it is registered for the Pacific, Amazonican and Andean regions(departments of Antioquia, Caqueta, Choco, Meta, Norte de Santander and Valle), from sea level to ca. 2300 m altitude. —SeeBetancur & Salinas 2003
