The branches of the inflorescence do not elongate in fruit as was originally described; that report was due to the type being mixed with a fruiting collection of a species of Lindmania. Two collections from the Los Testigos mountain range may represent this species, but only have immature inflorescences (Holst 3713, MO, from Aparaman-tepui; Holst 3538, MO, from Murisipan-tepui). —SeeSteyermark, Holst et al. 1989
